Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel was named 2016 Guardian Home Innovation Business 2016 at the Small Business Showcase Awards at a gala event in London.

It was started in 2010 by Abi Purser who went on to franchise the business two years later.

Aly Rochester, 50, of Stopsley runs Longcroft Luton, one of 11 boutique cat hotels around the country.

The former corporate PA said: “I now work from home and absolutely love what I do. It’s such a pleasure looking after people’s pets so they can go on holiday without worrying about them.”

Aly – who has two pedigree Ragdolls – added: “It’s an amazing concept and we’re so proud to have won this prestigious award.

“With just six suites, we are able to offer a bespoke and personalised stay for each and every guest.”
