A makeover for Lewsey allotments
They were there under the auspices of Green Skills, an employment training course run by community charity Groundwork Luton & Bedfordshire, funded by Active Luton and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The group learned practical skills which they put to good use, installing pathways and putting up fencing to make the area safer. They also built a sustainable compost bin which will ensure a more sustainable growing site.

Hide AdThe volunteers also boosted their job prospects through a City & Guilds award in employability skills and training for the CSCS test, a health and safety qualification that’s crucial for work on the construction industry.
Groundwork spokesman Paul Gudaniec said: “Their hardwork and dedication has been great and their commitment has paid off as the site has been transformed.”
