Man threatens post officer worker with meat cleaver in Hockwell Ring robbery

A post office worker was threatened with a meat cleaver during a robbery in Hockwell Ring this week.

On Tuesday, November 28, at around 6.45am a man entered the Post Office in The Green, Hockwell Ring.

He approached a member of staff and threatened her with a meat cleaver before making off with scratch cards and a charity box.

The offender is described as a black man, of a medium build and believed to be in his 40s. At the time of the offence he was seen wearing a blue hooded top, a black wool hat and a tartan scarf.

Detective Constable Scott Hannam, investigating, said: “This was a frightening incident which understandably left the victim shaken up. We are keen to speak to anyone who might have any information about this robbery or who was in the area at that time.”
