Graham Herrick, of Wigmore, took part in the marathon in 2014 and is hoping to raise thousands for the charity that grants wishes for seriously and terminally ill children aged between three and 18.

He said: “I am feeling very excited and a bit nervous about Sunday. I am running this marathon for the kids in the hope that I can make as many dreams come true as possible.

“The children the charity helps, go through so much pain and suffering yet they always have a smile on their faces, every sick child deserves the opportunity to have a wish granted and Rays of Sunshine do an unbelievable job in making this happen.

“The very least I can do for these children is to help in allowing them and their families to forget about the illness for a while. Rays of Sunshine create memories that can never be taken away.

“They are an incredible charity and need all the support they can get to help grant more children their wishes.”
