Melon bears fruit in photo competition

Once again, Herald&Post readers have risen to the occasion, producing some stunning images for our November Photo of the Month Competition.

We had some really fantastic entries on this month’s theme of ‘Pattern’, but there could only be one winner.

The judges’ favourite was Jigna Tailor’s image of a melon, taken in the Bury Park area of Luton.

The 19-year-old submitted three close-up photographs of fruit and vegetables from the stalls that line Dunstable Road, picking out natural patterns after being inspired by an art project on texture from her school days.

She wins a meal for two at Jimmy’s World Grill in Luton. Congratulations Jigna!
