Motorists urged to watch out for car key thieves

MOTORISTS are being asked by Beds Police to be vigilant after an increase in burglaries involving car key theft across the county in recent weeks.

To help reduce the risk of car theft people are urged not to leave car keys or valuables anywhere they can be easily seen from outside or within range to be ‘fished’ through the letterbox.

Detective Steve Vesztrocy said: “One of the greatest tools that Bedfordshire Police has in fighting crime and protecting the public is the 550,000 pairs of eyes and ears that belong to the residents.

Anyone with information regarding burglaries or vehicle theft should call 101.
