Here's when Remembrance Sunday services are taking place in Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Barton-le-Clay

Communities will come together this month to honour fallen servicemen and women at a series of Remembrance Sunday events.

In Dunstable, the annual Remembrance Day Parade and Civic Service will begin at 10.30am on Sunday, November 8, setting off from Grove House Gardens before making its way through the town centre to Priory Gardens.

A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am following the sounding of the Maroon signal, before wreaths are laid at the War Memorial. A service will then take place at Priory Church.

Residents are also being encouraged to line the High Street to show their support and remember those who lost their lives.

High Street North and High Street South, between Grove House and Priory House Heritage Centre, will be temporarily closed between 10:30am and 11am to accommodate the parade.

A further Act of Remembrance will take place at the War Memorial in Priory Gardens on Wednesday, November 11, when residents can join together for another two-minute silence at 11am.

Houghton Regis’ annual Service of Remembrance on Sunday, November 8, will be held at the All Saints’ Parish Church, at 9:45 am, followed by the Act of Remembrance at the Memorial Stone on the Village Green.

The services will be officiated by Father Diego Galanzino, and wreaths will be laid by the Deputy Lieutenant, Dr Joan Bailey, the Town Mayor, Councillor David Jones, representatives from Central Bedfordshire Council, Houghton Regis Town Council, local groups, organisations, and members of the local community.

Following the service, light refreshments will be served at the Houghton Regis Memorial Hall.

An Act of Remembrance will also be held on Wednesday, November 11, at 11am at the Memorial Stone, by the Village Green. Attendees are asked to gather from 10.45am.

Road closures will be in place on both days for the Houghton Regis High Street from 10.45am to 11.15am.
