New CCTV issued in racially motivated attack

Police are reissuing new CCTV stills of people they would like to speak to in connection with a racially motivated attack in George Street, Luton.

On March 10, at around 4am, a woman was approached by a group of people who asked her for a cigarette. When the woman refused she was attacked and pushed to the ground before being hit and spat at.

Officers investigating would like to speak to the people pictured as they believe they may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Hate crime Sergeant James Hart, said: “This was a nasty, unprovoked attack and even more alarming it is believed it was motivated by hate. Hate crime has no place in our society and we will not tolerate violence of any kind. We are committed to finding those responsible and urge for anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the people pictured to get in touch.”
