The children’s charity officially opened its new pop up shop, next to Treatz on Upper George Street, on Tuesday, August 9.

The Exchange allows families to swap school uniform they have finished with for new or second hand items for free.

The project launched last year at Discover Islam and following its success in the town, the charity has opened its second pop up shop.

Level Trust aims to ensure all children have what they need to do their best at school.

Founding director for Level Trust, Jane Malcolm, said: “It can cost families up to £250 per child to buy school uniform ready for the new academic year.

“With household budgets being squeezed more and more, kitting a child out for school can be a real stress for families.

“The Uniform Exchange gives families a free, easy and environmentally friendly way to get their children sorted for school.”

The pop up shop, opposite the Town Hall, is open Monday to Thursday from 9am till 12pm.
