October is domestic abuse awareness month in Beds

LUTON-BORN cricket hero Monty Panesar is supporting a new campaign to promote October as domestic abuse awareness month in Bedfordshire.

The acclaimed spin bowler, who has been called up to England’s Ashes side, said: “I was delighted to be asked to help promote awareness of such an important issue.

“Domestic abuse has a devastating effect on individuals and families. People need to know that they do not have to deal with it on their own and there is help out there.”
