A marathon effort for Signposts

A mother of two is taking part in the London marathon at the end of the month to raise money for Signposts.

Claire Kenney, 42, will be running to raise money for the charity that helps homeless people in Luton and Dunstable.

She took part in her first London marathon in 2013, she said: “I know about the great work that Luton Signposts do through my uncle, and I am very keen to fundraise for a charity that transforms outcomes for so many people.”

To support her Signposts has organised an event on Sunday, April 26, while she is in London, there will be 27 people each running one mile at Wardown Park to help her reach her target of £2000.

Kelly Blankley is running at the event, she said: “We are doing the event to support Claire and to help her raise money for her chosen charity. “

Claire’s uncle Kevin Porter is the CEO of the charity, he has been nominated as a Luton Legend with Arriva, his name will go on the side of a bus. To celebrate the achievement Arriva are giving the charity the bus for their event.
