Simon Patterson, centre manager met with president of Dunstable Downs RC, Karen Baldwin for officially unveil the upgrades.

Tony Gomersal, from the club, said: “Previously the gym, which is used as a community facility for various groups, became very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter due to its high roof and lack of insulation.

"Gym manager Leon is delighted with the new level of comfort that both he and his gym members can now enjoy, all year round.”

The hall, which already had a sprung floor, is expected to host dance activities.

Tony added: “This is just another example of the help the Rotary Club provides to local charity groups and organisations in Dunstable and the villages.”
