Groundwork is organising fun outdoor activities for families in Luton this summer

Thanks to funding from Bedfordshire & Luton Community Foundation, charity Groundwork East is running wild play activities at four sites including Farley Hill, Luton Hoo Memorial Park, Marsh Farm, and Stopsley.

The sessions will take place from 10am to 11am every Thursday, from May 6 until October 21.

Organisers say it will give parents and children the chance to become "wildlife detectives", create artwork using leaves and branches, have fun in the mud kitchen and learn how to sow seeds.

The locations will rotate each month, as follows:

May: St John the Baptist Church, Rotheram Avenue LU1 5PP

June: Luton Hoo Memorial Park, West Hill Road, LU1 3LZ

July: Stopsley Community Garden, 12 St Thomas' Rd, Luton LU2 7UY

August: Marsh Farm Futures, Futures House, The Moakes, Luton LU3 3QB

September: St John the Baptist Church, Rotheram Avenue LU1 5PP

October: Luton Hoo Memorial Park, West Hill Road, LU1 3LZ
