An influx in people looking to change their lives and become dog groomers has led to national shortage in training providers.

And Home Counties animal businesses are being asked to consider signing up to offer vital training courses, and the industry experiences a boost.

The iPET Network, which provides tailored qualifications for animal services, including dog grooming says that the organisation is looking to take on more training providers in the coming months to keep up with demand.

Sarah Mackay, who founded iPET Network with fellow animal-expert Fern Gresty, said: "The pandemic has really given people time to think about what they want to do with their lives, and we have seen a giant increase in interest for our professional dog grooming courses.

"People have seen that grooming is relatively pandemic proof, with many businesses able to operate providing welfare grooms throughout the lockdowns.

"Such is the demand, that we are actually looking to expand our list of training providers and the Home Counties is a brilliant place to start, we are calling on existing businesses to get in touch about offering this training."

iPET Network qualifications are designed by people who work within the industries they serve, and range from high level dog grooming courses, to pet first aid and canine nutrition.

Approved Training Provider's such as Four Paws Groom School in Cheshire also offer Groom Your Own Dog Day courses for any pet owner who would like to learn how to keep their dog's coat healthy between trips to the grooming parlour.

Sarah added: "These courses and qualifications are created by people who work within the industry, who believe how important it is to be qualified and offering the best and safest service for your pets.

"We hope that more training providers will come on board soon, so that we can expand our reach and contribute even more to excellence within the industry we love so much."
