A housebuilder is giving away £1,000 every month to community initiatives in Bedfordshire, and is welcoming new applications for the fund.

Redrow Homes South Midlands, which is building at Caddington Woods, in Chaul End, and Leestone Park, in Leighton Buzzard, created the £12,000 community fund to support as many groups, organisations and individuals as possible.

The money can be used for art supplies to help pupils get creative, to make repairs to a community centre or to support a local foodbank.

Suzanne Irons, sales director for Redrow Homes South Midlands, said: “We were overwhelmed with the success of last year’s community fund, so we knew we had to renew the initiative for another year.

“Here at Redrow Homes, it is our priority to make sure we do our bit to help create thriving communities, so whether you’re a volunteer at a local charity, or a community group that really makes a difference to the area, we’d like to encourage everyone to share their story with us.

“We’re excited to offer another chance to benefit from the fund to those who missed out last year, so we’re looking forward to hearing how we can help people in Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas.”

Applications for the fund are now open and will close on Monday, April 13.
