The store will offer building materials, plumbing and heating facilities, and show kitchens and bathrooms.

Dan Mansfield, branch development director at MKM, said: “Luton has a really strong trade community and a huge amount of building activity, so it’s a brilliant place for a new MKM branch.

“The team we’ve brought together know the town well and have worked in and around the area for many years. That local experience is important because it helps us shape the branch around what customers need.”

There will be a trade counter with staff on hand to help wherever they can.

Dan said: “Customers want knowledgeable people behind the counter who understand the job and can help them find the right solution quickly. The team here have worked across the trade for years and that experience shows when customers walk through the door.”
