The school was inspected by Ofsted on January 14 and 15, and inspectors spoke to pupils, staff, trustees, governors and met the school council and members of the leadership team.

The high school, which is part of the Chiltern Learning Trust, was rated as 'outstanding' in all areas - the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.

"Pupils value the many opportunities to widen their experience of the world. They participate fully in the extensive extra-curricular programme.

"Pupils are proud of their school. School council members could not think of one thing they would change. Pupils and teachers respect and value each other. Pupils told us that teachers go out of their way to offer help and support.

"Leaders, trustees and governors are unswerving in their determination to raise achievement and develop pupils’ character."

"Our parents have played a key role in supporting the school to this success."

Adrian Rogers, chief executive officer of the Trust, said: "The judgement represents the significant developments at the school in leadership and teaching and learning which has brought about the improvement from requires improvement to outstanding.

"The girls’ results are outstanding but the report also acknowledges the tremendous work at the school to develop citizenship and character."
