The top 100 list, now in its second year, recognises the work in the children’s activities sector.

Groups were judged on the activity benefits, safeguarding, inclusivity, community impact, and business achievements.

The Scout group, just off Blundell Road, is open to children from four years old and gives them the chance to learn, socialise and connect with others outside the classroom.

Two volunteers went to the ceremony in Birmingham on behalf of the group.

Elaine May, group chair, said: “This recognition reflects all the hard work, dedication and passion that goes into St Joseph’s Scouts every single week to provide fun, adventure and Skills for Life for our young people.

“This achievement would not be possible without our amazing volunteers. Thank you to everyone who gives their time to support our young people and local community. I would especially like to thank Keelan, Lena, Andy, Rachelle, Angela, George, Mark and Jess.”
