Luton teenager needs help to pay for mum's funeral after losing her to cancer just three weeks after diagnosis

A fundraising page has been set up to help a 19-year-old girl from Luton pay for her mother's funeral after losing her to cancer three weeks after diagnosis.

Elizabeth Pinto set up a fundraising page to help their friend Kaycee, whose mum sadly passed away on October 23.

On the Go Fund Me page it says: "I am trying to raise some money for my friend Kaycee.

"Her mum recently got diagnosed with lung cancer around 3 weeks ago. It has spread throughout her lungs to her stomach and liver, and she had been told on the 22nd October that her mum only had a few days to live.

"Sadly her mum passed away at 23.40 on the 23rd October.

"Kaycee is now worried about funeral expenses as she only works part time and it’s just her and her sister.

"Please If you could donate anything at all even a very small amount, it would help so much and it would be greatly appreciated."

Elizabeth set a target of £1,000, the page has now raised £4,150.

She said: "I wanted to do something to help her, so I set up a fundraising page to help with the funeral costs.

"I wasn't sure how much funerals cost, so I set a target of £1,000 and the page got shared loads and that target was reached really quick so I keep increasing it, we want to be able to help her as much as possible.

"The response has been amazing and the money will really help Kaycee with the funeral costs."
