Luton teenager surprised with special UFC night after gruelling cancer treatment
A 17-year-old from Luton was given an experience of a lifetime after a charity treated him to a night watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Charlie Smith was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, in April 2022.

He underwent multiple treatments for the cancer, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and life-changing surgery to put an implant put into his leg.
Four years on, he is now in remission, with clear scans.
The charity, Willow, gives bespoke experiences to seriously ill young adults, aged between 16 and 40.
His mum, Dawn, said: “Charlie was so grateful to receive the offer of a special day from Willow.
"His eyes lit up when I told him he had UFC tickets. Watching his grin and excitement was precious. It's been a difficult four years for Charlie and just to know there are such caring, wonderful charities like Willow who want to show him how important he is, means a lot.”
She added: “It was so nice to have mother and son time that was fun. We spent so much time in hospital where it was harsh, scary, upsetting, painful and boring.
"This was a wonderful, happy event to always cherish.”
Willow has helped make wishes come true for young adults and their loved ones for more than 25 years, offering special days and treats tailored to their needs.
