Last year, The Mall Luton chose Luton Foodbank as their charity of the year, the second year of the partnership will see staff from The Mall's management team volunteer at the charity's warehouse throughout 2020, to provide physical help for the charity.

On Monday, January 20, management staff from The Mall helped sort food parcels, make food boxes and assist with the day-to-day running of the warehouse.

Lavinia Douglass, marketing manager at The Mall Luton, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Luton Foodbank for another year, helping to raise awareness of their fantastic work alongside much needed funds for the charity.

"Luton Foodbank work tirelessly to help and support the local Luton community and it’s important to us we do as much as we physically can.

"We’re therefore delighted to be able to offer our own help with our new volunteering partnership, seeing staff from our management teams dedicate their time to help with the day-to-day running of the busy warehouse.”

Last year, The Mall Cares programme saw the centre host a range of fundraising activities and initiatives to help support Luton Foodbank and increase awareness of the charity.

Donations for the charity were raised during a number of key events held in the centre, including The Mall’s Spectacular Space Camp, family fun day, Dinosaur trail and the centre’s Christmas Giving Grotto.

The centre continues to support and welcomes food donations, with the drop-off point located by the lift in Smith’s Square, a food list can be seen here.
