New data puts Luton in top 10 family-friendly towns
New data from PlayLikeMum has revealed that Luton features in the top ten best places to live in England as a family.
Children's brand, PlayLikeMum, collated the data and created a league table that has analysed and scored towns and cities based on how family-friendly they are.
The areas they looked at were school standards, cost of childcare, child-friendly rated attractions and restaurants, young families, affordable housing, safety and earnings.
Luton came top for the young families section, the town came ninth in the overall table for best towns and cities in England.
Cllr Sian Timoney, portfolio holder for regeneration, said: “We are delighted that Luton has been highlighted as one of the best places to live for families.
"The town has so much going for it and we are pleased that an increasingly wide audience recognises, among other things, its excellent location, affordable house prices, growing economy, burgeoning arts and culture scene together with its excellent schools and commitment to training and skill provision for the local population.
"Recently revealed as one of the youngest and most socially mobile towns in the country, we know Luton is a great choice for a growing family.
"The council and its partners have seen many businesses, investors and individuals moving into Luton in recent years, eager to benefit from and contribute towards life in our great town.
"With our determination to tackle poverty and improve opportunities for all residents we are confident Luton will continue to be an attractive location for all."
