Doctors and nurses from Luton & Dunstable Hospital came to surprise Taylor Tappin, 11, for one final Thursday clap.

Taylor, who has autism, is a talented drummer and takes classes after school as a creative release.

His proud mum Donna said: "Taylor was absolutely devastated when the Thursday clapping stopped.

Luton drummer boy Taylor was thanked by NHS staff

"All he wanted to do was make NHS workers happy and to keep them smiling.

"So, my friend who is a sister at the L&D Hospital asked doctors and nurses to come to our house last night to thank Taylor as they said he was their hero.

"He put on one hell of a performance!"
