One week left to have your say on plans to extend Vale Cemetery burial ground

Luton residents have just over a week left to have their say on plans to extend the burial ground of Vale Cemetery and Crematorium.

Luton Borough Council is consulting over the plans until Wednesday, January 13, amid fears the burial ground is almost full.

The council stated: "The Vale Crematorium and burial ground on Butterfield Green Road in Stopsley is reaching its capacity in available burial plots.

"Based on our forecast projections for burials, the site is likely to reach capacity in 2022

"The council proposes to acquire land to the west of the existing burial ground on the other side of Butterfield Green Road to form a new burial ground."

Two online workshops will also take place to discuss the plans, one today (Tuesday) at 7.30pm and another on Thursday at 10.30am. For invite details, email [email protected].
