Police order crowd 'of around 50 people' to leave Luton cemetery
Police attended Luton's The Vale Cemetery & Crematorium today after a crowd of people attended in breach of Covid-19 regulations.
Inspector Cray Birch said: “This afternoon (Friday) we responded to reports of a disturbance at a funeral taking place in Butterfield Green Road, Luton.
“Officers attended and issued a dispersal order to a crowd of around 50 people who had attended the venue without invitation.
“The funeral subsequently took place once this crowd had been dispersed.
“We remain at the scene to provide reassurance and engage with those involved.”
