Schoolgirl takes on a sponsored swim for The Children's Trust

A Southfields Primary School pupil is taking part in a sponsored swim to raise money for The Children's Trust.

Laci Rogers, nine, of Lewsey Farm, decided to organise the fundraiser to give something back to the charity’s centre in Tadworth to say thank you for helping her friend.

Lisa Rogers, Laci’s mum, said: “Back in September Laci’s friend was hit by a car and suffered severe brain injuries. She has not been home since the accident and is receiving ongoing treatment at the rehabilitation centre.

“Laci has visited her friend on numerous occasions and wanted to do something special to say thank you for all the hard work they are doing for her friend. She has raised over £600 already and would like to keep on raising money for this wonderful cause.

“This is not the first time Laci has done fundraising, when she was five she walked five miles and raised £500 for Make A Wish Foundation, I am very proud of her.”

She will be taking on the 1000 metre challenge on Saturday, April 2, at Dunstable Leisure Centre. To sponsor Laci, visit: www.justgiving.com/laciswimsforjadae
