'We want to go out with a bang' - 2026 could be Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard Truck Convoy's final year
Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard Truck Convoy wants to "go out with a bang" as 2026 could be the event's final year.
Around 150 lorries will roll through the towns on Saturday, June 13, raising money for two charities – Scotty's Little Soldiers and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

During its previous ten years, the event has raised over a quarter of a million pounds for good causes, and it is hoped that there will be a strong turnout from the community.
Organiser, Graham Munt, said: "We really need them this year because we want to go out with a bang.

"This is, possibly, the last year that we are running it, so what we would like is stacks of support all through the towns to cheer the drivers on and help us raise as much money as possible."
Graham founded the convoy over ten years ago after being inspired by his son, who served with the Royal Green Jackets for 26 years.
After retiring, his son took on charity challenges to support families of the fallen and Graham – a truck driver – decided to rally his industry contacts to the cause.
He said: "Our drivers come from all over – Scotland, Wales, Bristol, Ireland. We've normally got one from Barcelona and one will also be coming from Poland.
"We are also honoured to have Ben Parkinson MBE with us. He was severely injured in the Afghan conflict – he suffered brain damage, and lost both his legs.
"He has been on two or three occasions and will ride in one of the lorries."
The convoy will set off from Herts Showground at 10am, arriving in Dunstable around 10.30am, and Leighton Buzzard at around 11.15am. It will then head to Billington Showground for the family fun day, which opens at 1pm.
There will be plenty of fun for all ages, including stalls, live music, a disco, tombolas, and a "massive raffle", with prizes including, cash, televisions, and Fortnum and Mason hampers.
The truck drivers themselves will also have a chance to win trophies, courtesy of ACF Watford, which will be in display in the showground.
Graham added: "Thank you to everyone who has supported us with raffle prizes and donations, and especially to our sponsors."
The event's main sponsors are 'Brian Currie - DAF Milton Keynes' and 'WJD Doherty Tippers'.
He concluded: "Finally, thank you to the people that make it happen - the drivers and the supporters."
To close the event, a bugler will play The Last Post, before the lorries switch their lights on, as a mark of repect to the fallen.
It is recommended that young children wear ear defenders when watching the convoy due to the noise from the horns.
