Hertfordshire police boss David Lloyd led a region summit last month as justice chiefs discussed the best ways to reduce offending and re-offending.

The Police and Crime Commissioner was joined by more than 100 professionals from across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northants at the conference on July 24.

All four counties are covered by a single community rehabilitation company (CRC), BeNCH, which is responsible for supervising low to medium risk offenders in the area.

Mr Lloyd said: “It is vital that best practice is shared and strong working relationships are built between partner organisations , so that we can help divert them away from a life of crime.

“Success in this area means fewer crimes in the future and therefore fewer victims. All four commissioners are keen to exploit this opportunity created by the formation of the new CRCs and this conference is a step in that direction.”
