Beds Police are looking to trace two men who ditched a stolen car in Luton before fleeing.
Officers followed a black Volkswagen Golf in Icknield Way on Thursday March 26 after the driver failed to stop.
The vehicle with the registration LM55 WRG made off through Catsbrook Road and Goosebury Hill at around 4.35pm.
Two men – aged in their early 20s – got out of the car in Grasmere Road and made off through gardens along Derwent Road. The driver was described as skinny with short black cropped hair and wearing a grey hooded top.
The passenger also had dark hair and was wearing a similar style of top. One man was arrested nearby and later released on bail.
Investigating officers confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen on March 6 following a burglary in Burnham Road, Luton, and was running on false licence plates.
Detective Constable Surfraz Hussain, investigating, said: “I am trying to locate any possible witnesses to this incident in order to track down the offenders involved.
“Having stolen cars on Bedfordshire’s roads puts our community at risk. We will not tolerate those who flaunt the law and potentially put pedestrians and other road users in harm’s way.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact Detective Constable Surfraz Hussain using the police non-emergency number 101.
