Britain First: Facebook removes Bury Park video for breaking '˜hate speech' rules

The footage, which clocked up millions of views on the social media site, showed Britain First members rowing with locals on Dunstable Road.

The far-right group held crosses aloft and held literature out as they conducted what they called a ‘Christian patrol’ on January 23.

The demonstration was widely condemned by both the Christian and Muslim communities, but Britain First’s footage of the ‘patrol’ has been viewed across the globe.

In a post the far-right group said: “No warning was given, or confirmation that it was taken down.

“It simply disappeared! Facebook is actively censoring the truth!”

In its terms and conditions Facebook states that users cannot post material that that “is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.”

The site also bans people from using the site “to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.”

The same footage is still available on Youtube, however.

Dawood Masood, founder of counter-radicalisation organisation Quba Trust, told the Luton News: “It is good that it has been taken down as they were clearly spreading hate.

“It was reaching out to those people who don’t have much interaction with Muslims and brainwashes them.

“They are not giving full image and people do now know that they are clearly just doing this their own political agenda.”
