Scores of Lutonians descended outside Luton's The Mall on Saturday in a protest against owner Capital & Regional's continued opposition to Newlands Park.

Campaign group C&R Against The People organised the lunchtime rally in St George's Square with the help of leading supporters' groups Luton Town Supporters' Trust, Loyal Luton and Save Our Town. C&R has been contacted for comment.

Planning permission for a new stadium at Power Court was granted in February, and an out-of-town development at Newlands Park was approved in March.
