The store has raised £5000 for the biannual charity event through cake sales, sponsored bicycle rides, a tombola, flower wrapping for Valentines and Mother’s Day and donations from customers.

On Friday, Carl Smith, a Rahanni Teacher, will be carrying out celestial healing treatments in store from 10am till 5pm, with all donations going to Sport Relief.

There will also be a Blind Auction for a Star Wars cap and letter that were issued to the cast and crew of the latest movie. Customers have until Sunday, March 20, to place a bid, the person who pledges and pays the most for the items, wins them.

The store is also giving customers the chance to win a signed, framed programme by the Luton Town football team.

Raffle tickets will be on sale from 7am on Friday until 4pm on Sunday.

Sainsbury’s aim for Sport Relief is to beat the the total raised in 2014 of £6.7m. The money raised helps vulnerable people in the UK and the world’s poorest countries.
