Scout hut is the place for donating blood

With the busy summer of sport coming to a close, blood donors are now being asked to help keep stocks healthy ahead of winter.

Although the exciting events are ending, the demand for blood never does. Currently 7,000 units of blood are needed in hospitals across England and North Wales every day.

The next opportunity to donate is at the Grovebury Road Scout Hut in Leighton Buzzard on Tuesday, September 4.

Anyone aged between 17-65, weighing more than 50 kg (7st 12lbs) and in general good health could potentially start saving lives by becoming a blood donor. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years. To book an appointment call the Donor Line on 0300 123 23 23 or visit www.blood.co.uk
