Then Luton paranormal investigator Paul Adams would like to hear from you.

The draughtsman-cum-author has been commissioned to write the first dedicated guide to ghostly happenings in Luton and Dunstable.

And he’s looking for up-to-date tales of the unexpected to add to the historical ones he’s already researched.

The father-of-four has uncovered several unnerving stories.

He revealed: “The ghost of a former vicar is supposed to frequent St Margaret’s in Streatley and Prior Cuthbert allegedly haunts the choir stalls of Dunstable’s Priory Church.

“The Moat House is also steeped in legend. It’s the oldest secular building in Luton. Witch executions were held at nearby Galley Hill and a slaughter pit was discovered there in the early 1960s.”

Limbury-based Paul, 44, has been intrigued by the supernatural for years.

He confessed: “I was weaned on Hammer horror films. I used to watch them with my dad, then graduated to the Hamlyn Book of Ghosts. That started my interest in the paranormal.”

Paul, sporting a square-cut goatee beard and grey ponytail, admits 98 percent of spectre sightings probably have perfectly logical explanations. But it’s the other two percent that fascinate him.

He’s written several books on the subject including a collaboration on Borley Rectory – supposedly the most haunted house in England – with renowned author and ghost hunter Peter Underwood
