Shock for brave cancer mum Maggie

TODDINGTON mum Maggie Thomas collapsed last week and was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

“My body went into shutdown because of the lack of sleep,” she said yesterday.

The steroids the brave mother-of-six has been taking to counteract the cancer that is now in her brain were making her hyperactive and unable to rest. A 10 hour induced sleep put her back on her feet

She is heading back to Germany this weekend for more cutting edge hyperthermia treatment. Generous Herald&Post readers have been helping fund it because Maggie and her husband David have already spent their life savings trying to prolong what little time she has left.

Maggie said: “The most incredible part of all of this is that I have no fear. I have a feeling of complete trust and peace. It is not denial. I am very aware of my medical situation. I am full of so much hope and love that I am bursting with a passion for life.”

She’s keeping her fingers crossed that she’ll be home for Christmas with the family she adores.
