A major traffic collision brought Bury Park to a standstill last night.
Emergency Services were out in force after what is understood to have been a head-on collision at the roundabout at Dunstable Road and Telford Way, in Bury Park at around 9.40pm.
A Beds and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called to Dunstable Road after a collision involving one car with five passengers and a van with one driver.
“One female had to be cut from a vehicle by officers. Six casualties were taken by ambulance to Luton & Dunstable Hospital.”
Police closed Hatters Way and Dunstable Road while the incident was ongoing – bringing traffic to a standstill.
A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 9.40pm to reports of a collision between a car and van on Telford Way, Luton.
“Emergency services attended and number of people were taken to hospital.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 429 of 22 March.”
