Sowing the seeds for successful gardening

Sainsbury's in Bury Park, Luton has donated a generous gift of gardening materials to Denbigh High School as part of its support for the local community.

The donation will be used to plant a garden in the school, and teach pupils about growing fresh produce.

Funded through the Sainsbury’s Community Budget scheme, it was set up to help charitable groups in the local community and is partially funded by sales of the retailer’s ‘Bag for Life’. So for customers this means that they are not only making an environmental choice, they are also contributing to their local community.

Meg Oakey, community and charity ambassador for the store, said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and is important we can play our part to support it. When we heard about Denbigh High School’s forthcoming mission, we just wanted to help to help out as much as we could.”
