The Manchester-based musician was headlining at Biggleswade’s Wadefest which was donating some of the proceeds to the hospice.

Chief executive Mike Keel said: “Keech has a lot of Stone Roses fans who were thrilled to meet such a rock legend, so we were very excited to have him here.
He added: “Music is very important to us and we have a fantastic music therapist who works not only with our patients but also their families, helping them express themselves and get through the very difficult situations they are experiencing.”

Children’s unit healthcare assistant Zafreen Ikhlaq agreed: “Music has a big impact on patients and families so it was amazing to have such a talented superstar acknowledge the hospice and support us.

“It was so lovely to meet Aziz. He’s a really nice man and he played lots of songs which put a smile on everyone’s face.”

Aziz, who’s also worked with Simply Red, chatted with staff and patients and was shown how donations help fund activities such as music therapy and the hydrotherapy pool.
