Staff threatened at knifepoint in Luton armed robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Luton convenience store was robbed at knifepoint.

At around 8.20pm on Tuesday. February 23 two men threatened a member of staff at Express Food and Wine in Lyneham Road with knives before stealing cash from the till.

The pair then made off on foot. Both men are described as black, slim, and wearing black shirts and with their faces covered.

One of the duo was also wearing a black waistcoat.

Det Con Tracey Joyce said: “We are committed to finding the person responsible for this atrocious act and are appealing for anyone who has any information, or saw someone matching the description in this area at the time, to come forward.

“This offence took place in the middle of a busy shopping parade so it is likely someone saw something which can assist our investigation.

“The use of weapons is absolutely never tolerated and we are currently running a campaign to help raise awareness of the serious consequences of knife crime.”
