Stockwood and Chalk Hills get best A level results ever

The Shared Learning Trust is delighted to announce a positive set of A Level grades at its Stockwood Park and Chalk Hills Academies.

Students at Stockwood Park, on Rotherham Avenue in Luton, achieved the school’s best ever results, with a significant rise in the number of top grades. There were particular successes in sport, psychology, forensic science, sociology and history. Despite fears over possible volatility in the new AS exam results, passes were up by a significant margin.

Principal, Cathy Barr, said: “I am delighted that our students have done so well. They have worked tremendously hard, in many cases overcoming significant challenges in their lives, regularly putting in extra hours after school, at weekends and during their holidays. They therefore thoroughly deserve the success that they have achieved.”

It was also good news at the Chalk Hills Academy on Leagrave High Street, where almost all students passed their A Levels.

Acting Principal, Samia Akram said: “Our students have worked incredibly hard this year, I’m very proud of them all. The vast majority will now be going on to university, which will be such a life changing opportunity, and we wish them every success for the future”.

More than 85 percent of students from the two Shared Learning Trust academies have gained places at university, with all others progressing to either further training or employment.

CEO of the Trust, Andrew Cooper said, “I am really proud of the results across The Shared Learning Trust. Although our Sixth Forms are still relatively new, these results are testament to our dedicated staff and students.”
