Sainsbury’s branch in Bury Park, Luton, donated to the Very English Cultural Evening which took place on Friday, as part of the store’s support for the local community.
The event, hosted by Hope Church Luton, promotes the opportunity for all cultures and religions to be able to learn more about each other and unite for an evening of food and entertainment.
The night was funded through Sainsbury’s Community Budget Scheme which was set up to help charitable groups in the local community and is partially financed by the sales of the retailer’s Bag For Life.
For customers at Sainsbury’s Luton, this means that they are not only making an environmental choice, they are also contributing to their local community.
Store manager, Ian Shannon said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community, so it’s vital that we play our part to support local events.”
