Take a look at new countryside plans

PLANS to get more people visiting countryside to the north of Luton are to go on show to the public next week.

A series of exhibitions is taking place so that people can have a say on the ‘vision’ to improve management and visitor access of wildlife sites in Sundon, Streatley, Barton, Chalton, Harlington and Toddington.

Central Beds Council says the area, known as the ‘South Bedfordshire Chiltern Arc’, is a unique collection of historical and wildlife sites, some of which are of national significance.

The plans are designed to maintain and improve the ecological condition of the area, which includes ancient woodlands, and have been prepared by the charity Groundwork.

People can view the plans and talk to council staff at Sundon Village Hall on Wednesday, September 5 from 6pm to 8.30pm, at Streatley Village Hall on Monday, September 17 from 6pm to 8.30pm and at Barton Library on Tuesday, September 18, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

People will also be able to take part in the consultation online from tomorrow (September 3), at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/consultation, or pick up a questionnaire from council offices.
