A group of young people with learning difficulties took the train for the first time recently - and learned how easy it is to get on board.
The youngsters and their carers from Central Bedfordshire College travelled from Luton Airport Parkway to St Pancras.
But first the Thameslink team taught them the ropes and showed them how easy it was to find their way round, buy a ticket and use the automatic ticket machines.
During their journey to London they took part in a quiz and when they arrived at their destination, they were given a tour of St Pancras and Kings Cross.
Group leader Lin Yates said: “This great experience will help our students develop their independence and widen their social horizons.
“The staff were attentive and supportive and have shown the youngsters there’s nothing to be worried about travelling by train.”
