Taste of uni at summer school

More than 150 sixth form students flocked to Bedfordshire University's Luton campus for a mini break to get a taste of uni life over two nights and three days.

They attended special workshops and interactive sessions ranging from live television production and screen printing to teaching master classes and sport science testing in the labs at Bedford.

These were balanced with cinema nights and free time to explore the area.

Spokesman Trevor Sinclair said: “Summer schools are a great way of actively engaging students who may feel unconfident in their abilities or unsure if the university path is the right one for them.

“Getting them on campus for a few days gives them a taste of what it’s really like.”

Media student James Main said: “I made friends quickly and have some good memories”.
