Taxi driver attacked and robbed by passengers in Luton

A taxi driver was attacked and robbed by two passengers in a 'nasty attack' in Luton.

The offence took place at around 1.20am on Sunday, May 1 as the driver took the two men to Hockwell Ring in Luton.

Upon arrival, the men then demanded money from the taxi driver who refused.

They attacked him and then robbed cash from him before leaving the scene on foot towards Acworth Court.

Det Con Mandy Godfree said: “Unfortunately at the moment we don’t have a clear description of the offenders, so I’m really keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or anyone who knows who was involved.

“This was a nasty attack, and Bedfordshire Police won’t tolerate violence like this. It’s vital that we find those responsible.”
