The dogs are the much-loved pets of Sainsbury’s PR ambassador Elaine Wilson, who spends a lot of her time in the community calling on schools, clubs and care homes.

She said: “I grabbed the chance to take them with me on National Bring Your Dog to Work Day, something people look forward to every year.

“My colleague Sarah Goreham and I had a great morning at Dukeminster, which has 85 residents – many with dementia.

“Therapy dogs are used all over the world and it really was lovely to see the residents’ eyes light up when their four-legged visitors walked into their rooms.

“They said they loved being able to give a dog a cuddle and some of them told us about the animals they used to have.”
Elaine added: “Kia and Keisha were very well behaved and were rewarded with extra treats.”
