Thieves spent over two hours withdrawing £42,000 from an ATM machine in Luton after smashing it and using a USB device.
The incident took place outside of Sainsbury’s in Quantock Rise on Saturday, November 10.
At around 1.45am two men smashed the front of the cash machine at the location and used a USB device to withdraw a large sum of money.
The culprits stayed for over two hours, fleeing at around 3.50am when they were disturbed by a member of the public.
Approximately £42,000 was stolen from the cash point. The offenders were wearing balaclavas at the time of the offence.
Detective Constable Scott Hannam, investigating, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone with information to come forward. Although this happened in the early hours of the morning, we believe there is a number of people who might have witnessed it.”
