Toddington fire station closure rumour denied

TODDINGTON’S fire station is not under threat of closure, Beds Fire and Rescue says.

A review is being undertaken into shift patterns at stations throughout the county, as the service seeks to save cash and make sure its resources are best placed to deal with emergencies.

Following a rally in London last week, firefighters from Leighton Buzzard said the station at Toddington was under threat.

But that claim was denied yesterday, with a service spokesman saying there “may be changes but there will still be a station and firefighters at Toddington”.
