Major road towards Luton Airport to close for emergency repairs
A road leading to Luton Airport will have to close this evening (Thursday) after an inspection found that it needs emergency repairs.
New Airport Way, northbound between the junction of Gipsy Lane and Percival Way roundabout, will close from 8pm to 3am tomorrow (Friday).

The closure was prompted after an inspection revealed areas of the carriageway need urgent and immediate repairs to reduce the risk of damage to vehicles.
The shared bus and taxi lane from Parkway to New Airport Way and the junction of Gipsy Lane northbound to both the Percival Way roundabout and Kimpton Road roundabout will be closed during the night.
A signed diversion will be in place for drivers.
The council said: “During the closure, the diversion for all traffic heading towards the airport will be via Gipsy Lane, Windmill Road, Kimpton Road, Vauxhall Way, Eaton Green Road, Frank Lester Way, Percival Way.
“Traffic heading away from the airport towards the M1 can continue to use New Airport Way as usual.”
