More than an hour of delays as M1 near Luton reopens after car fire

Drivers are being warned of delays on the M1 near Dunstable and Luton after it was closed earlier following a car fire.

National Highways said: “The #M1 southbound between J11A #Chalton and J11 #Dunstable has reopened following the earlier incident.”

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Anglian Air Ambulance were in attendance after a car set on fire after being involved in a collision.

Two of the four lanes are still closed while traffic has been released in all lanes on the northbound carriageway.
